Renault has officially revealed the Boreal SUV as part of its international growth strategy. With a substantial €3 billion investment, the brand is aiming to double its sales in the C-segment. The Boreal is positioned as a premium, tech-forward SUV and will first launch in Latin America and Turkey, followed by an India debut in late 2026.
Built on Renault’s new ultra-flexible modular platform, the Boreal has been unveiled globally in a five-seat configuration. However, India will receive a 7-seater version to suit local preferences. It boasts the new Renault design language with an aggressive stance.
Inside, the Boreal offers a premium cabin equipped with dual 10-inch displays. The infotainment supports built-in Google services like Maps and Appstore. The SUV features soft-touch materials, ambient lighting, and high-end comforts such as powered front seats with memory and massage functions.
For global markets, the Boreal is powered by a 1.3-litre turbo-petrol engine available in multiple fuel and power configurations. Latin American markets will get a 156PS, 270Nm variant, which is also likely to be offered as the base engine in India.
The Renault Boreal is expected to launch in India by late 2026. Unlike the global 5-seater version, the India-spec model will likely come with a standard 7-seater layout to cater to family buyers. It will be locally manufactured, enabling Renault to price it competitively.
