The production version of the Isuzu D-Max EV all-electric pickup was unveiled at the Commercial Vehicle Show held at the NEC (National Exhibition Centre) in Birmingham, England. Earlier this year, the concept version of this electric pickup was also showcased at the Bharat Mobility Auto Expo.
The unveiled Isuzu D-Max EV at the CV Show looks quite similar to the regular ICE version, with the familiar styling at the front and rear. But there are a few small changes, like some tweaks around the lower bumper, a new EV badge, and a few other details you can also notice.
The Isuzu D-Max EV is built on the electrified version of the D-Max platform. It will be offered in both extended and double-cab versions. This EV will come in two variants, which will be based on the ones available in the ICE version.
The Isuzu D-Max EV will come with a 66.9 kWh lithium-ion battery pack and dual motors. It makes a combined 190 PS of power and 325 Nm of torque. It will also be offered with a 4×4 configuration.
The Isuzu D-Max EV pickup is claimed to sprint from 0 to 100 km/h in 10.1 seconds. It has a top speed of over 128 km/h and a range of 263 km, according to WLTP standards.
Production of the Isuzu D-Max EV has already started at the brand's Thailand plant. It will first be exported to the European market in the third quarter of the year. As for the Isuzu D-Max EV launch in India, there's no confirmation yet, but it's expected that it won't be available in India anytime soon.
