Several Kia dealerships across India have started accepting unofficial bookings for the Carens Clavis EV. These early bookings, made for a nominal fee, could reduce waiting times post-launch. However, buyers should clarify cancellation and refund policies before committing.
The Carens Clavis EV largely retains the design of the standard Carens Clavis, with key EV-specific elements like a new closed-off grille with a center charging port and new alloy wheels. On the inside, it offers a floating centre console.
The Kia Carens Clavis EV is likely to match its features list with the standard Carens Clavis. These include ADAS features, surround view cameras, dual-screen setup and capacitive dynamic controls.
The Carens Clavis EV will come with 51.4kWh battery pack, offering a MIDC-certified range of 490km on a single charge. It shares its battery and motor with the Hyundai Creta EV, although Kia hasn’t confirmed if a smaller battery variant will also be offered.
Kia India will officially launch the Carens Clavis EV on July 15, 2025. It will be Kia’s first made-in-India electric vehicle, unlike the imported EV6. The Carens Clavis EV will compete with electric MPVs like the BYD eMax7.
