Kia is preparing to launch the Carens Clavis EV HTM, a taxi-oriented version of the recently introduced electric MPV. Based on the HTK+ variant, the HTM is tailored for fleet use and expected to hit the market soon.
The HTM variant includes several fleet-focused features: GPS tracker, 6 panic buttons, 80 kmph speed limiter and child lock removal. These are intended to improve passenger safety and comply with fleet vehicle norms.
In addition to the taxi-specific upgrades, the HTM variant offers LED lighting (headlights, fog lamps, tail lamps), 16-inch aero alloy wheels, rear wiper with defogger, Electric one-touch tumble 2nd-row seats, Dual 12.25-inch screens, cruise control and a lot more.
The HTM variant uses a 42kWh battery, paired with a 135PS / 255Nm front-mounted electric motor. It offers a claimed ARAI range of 404 km, making it a capable option for daily fleet operations.
According to leaked information, the Kia Carens Clavis EV HTM is priced at Rs 18.19 lakh (ex-showroom). This makes it Rs 20,000 more expensive than the HTK+ 42kWh variant it’s based on, offering added features for a marginal premium.
