The Kia Syros is Kia’s upcoming SUV that is likely to be positioned between the Kia Sonet and the Kia Seltos.
The Kia Syros that was spied by us featured a diesel engine along with a DEF (Diesel Exhaust Fluid) lid. This makes it natural to expect a diesel powertrain along with petrol options.
The disguised Kia Syros featured front and rear sensors for ADAS functionalities, panoramic sunroof, twin-screen setup and a two-spoke steering wheel.
The Kia Syros features a boxy silhouette, similar to the Skoda Yeti’s. It gets headlights and rear lights that resemble the ones seen on newer Kia models. The Syros also gets drum brakes at the rear, unlike the Sonet or Seltos.
We expect Kia India to launch the Kia Syros sometime in the calendar year 2025. Official communication from Kia is still awaited.
Kia India currently has four models in its portfolio in India — Sonet, Seltos, Carens and EV6. The Kia EV9 electric SUV is expected to make its way to Indian shores on 3rd October, 2024, along with the new Kia Carnival.
