Land Rover has introduced the Defender OCTA Black, a bold new variant of its high-performance SUV. This model blends the rugged off-road character of the Defender with a stealthy, all-black aesthetic, adding a distinctive flair to the OCTA lineup.
The OCTA Black lives up to its name with black finishes on up to 30 exterior components, including the front undershield, rear scuff plates, and quad exhaust tips. It comes in Narvik Black paint as standard, with an optional Matte Protective Film. Buyers can choose between 20-inch or 22-inch black forged alloy wheels.
The cabin features Ebony Semi-Aniline Leather with Kvadrat fabric, marking a first for the Defender range. The Performance Seats showcase unique perforations and stitching, while Satin Black Powder Coat finishes enhance the dashboard. Buyers can also opt for a Chopped Carbon Fibre trim for a sportier touch.
The OCTA Black retains the 4.4-litre twin-turbo mild-hybrid V8 engine, delivering 635PS. It is equipped with the 6D Dynamics suspension system and a dedicated OCTA Mode for enhanced off-road capability. The Body and Soul Seats, developed with SUBPAC, let occupants physically feel sound vibrations for a more immersive experience.
Land Rover also announced that Defender is the official automotive partner of the Oasis Live ’25 world tour, supporting the band’s 41-date journey. The OCTA Black joins an extended color lineup that includes Sargasso Blue, Borasco Grey, Charente Grey, and Petra Copper, with a Patagonia White Matte Wrap arriving later in 2025.
