Mahindra’s off-road-focused electric SUV, the BE Rall-e, was recently spotted in testing with heavy camouflage. The test model featured circular LED headlights and a roof rack, indicating its off-road identity.
The BE Rall-e, based on the BE 6, incorporates visual and functional enhancements tailored for off-roading. These include rugged styling cues, better ground clearance, and features like a shortened front overhang to enhance its off-road prowess.
The BE Rall-e is expected to be Mahindra's first electric SUV with an AWD (All-Wheel Drive) setup, using dual motors. This differentiates it from the single-motor RWD configurations of the BE 6 and XUV.e9. It may also include off-road-specific drive modes and features.
The BE Rall-e will likely compete with models such as the Tata Harrier EV, which features a dual-motor AWD setup. The Rall-e aims to appeal to buyers looking for a lifestyle-oriented electric SUV with serious off-road capabilities.
According to a leaked teaser video, the BE Rall-e is scheduled for launch in late 2025, following the debut of the XUV700 Electric earlier in the year. Once launched, it will carve a niche in the Indian EV market with its bold design and rugged character.
