Samsung Galaxy owners who drive Mahindra eSUVs have a handy new option. The Mahindra BE 6 and XEV 9e now let you access your vehicle directly through the Digital Car Key in the Samsung Galaxy Wallet app.
Previously, Mahindra EV owners could use the Me4U app to unlock and start their vehicles digitally. This capability has now been extended to the Samsung Galaxy Wallet app, making it easier for Galaxy users to unlock and start their BE 6 or XEV 9e directly from their phones.
Mahindra is the first Indian automaker to offer Digital Car Key functionality via Samsung Wallet marking a notable first in the country's EV industry.
Samsung states that the Digital Car Key in the Galaxy Wallet app will enable Mahindra BE 6 and XEV 9e owners to lock, unlock, and start their cars without needing a physical key. Additionally, users can securely share their digital key with family or friends for a limited time allowing easy control over who can access the vehicle.
If your Samsung Galaxy with a Digital Car Key is lost or stolen, you can use Samsung's Find service to remotely lock the device or erase all its data including the digital key, keeping your vehicle secure. On top of that, Samsung Wallet requires a PIN or biometric authentication for access ensuring only authorised users can operate the car.
Samsung has not yet announced the exact launch date for the Digital Car Key feature for Mahindra BE 6 and XEV 9e owners in India. The rollout is expected soon.
