The anticipated Mahindra XEV 7e has recently been teased on Mahindra's social media, with the brand officially announcing the name for this upcoming 7-seater SUV as XEV 9S. The XEV 9S is built on Mahindra's dedicated INGLO electric skateboard platform, which is also present in the XEV 9e and BE 6 EVs.
Some images of the new Mahindra XEV 9S have leaked, showing a front with connected LED DRLs, stacked headlamps, a closed grille with the infinity logo, and a lower bumper spoiler. The front resembles the XEV 9e, while the rear taillights take inspiration from its ICE counterpart.
The upcoming Mahindra XEV 9S interior is expected to draw inspiration from the XEV 9e and BE 6, featuring a three-screen dashboard layout. It will have soft-touch surfaces, a clean centre console, and a two-spoke steering wheel with an illuminated Mahindra logo. The cabin is likely to feature dual-tone upholstery, gloss-black accents, smooth door panels with flush handles, and a spacious seven-seat layout.
Mahindra XEV 9s features are expected to include a triple 12.3-inch screen setup, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, multi-zone climate control, wireless charging, adjustable driver seat, auto-dimming IRVM, auto wipers, ambient lighting, powered tailgate, 16 speakers, panoramic sunroof, and more. Safety will likely include ABS, ESP, VSM, Hill Hold Assist, 360-degree camera, blind-spot monitor, parking sensors, and a Level 2+ ADAS suite, among others.
The Mahindra XEV 9S battery options are expected to include the familiar 59kWh battery with 170 kW of battery power and 380 Nm of torque, while the 79kWh battery pack churns out 210 kW and 380 Nm of torque. The former claims a range of 542km, while the latter is expected to offer 656km.
The upcoming Mahindra XEV 9S electric SUV launch is scheduled to happen at Mahindra's Scream Electric event in Bengaluru on 27th November 2025.
The Mahindra XEV 9s price is expected to be revealed after the launch and is likely to fall between Rs 20 lakh and Rs 27 lakh. It will compete with upcoming rivals, including the Tata Harrier EV.
