The Maruti Escudo draws design cues from the Grand Vitara, featuring split LED headlights and connected LED tail lamps. Positioned between the Brezza and Grand Vitara, it will be sold via the Arena network and skip Nexa-specific elements like the tri-dot LED signature and Nexa Blue colour.
Based on the Global-C platform, the Escudo will likely measure over 4 metres in length, positioning it in the C-segment SUV category. It will directly compete with the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, and its sibling, the Grand Vitara.
Though not officially confirmed, the Escudo is expected to include a panoramic sunroof (a first for the Arena line), ambient lighting, 9.0-inch touchscreen with wireless Android Auto/Apple CarPlay, ventilated front seats, wireless charging and rear AC vents.
The Escudo is likely to feature the familiar 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine delivering 103PS and 138Nm, with both 5-speed manual and 6-speed automatic gearboxes. A CNG variant is also expected, but a hybrid option is unlikely.
The Maruti Escudo is expected to launch between August and October 2025, coinciding with the festive season. Unofficial bookings may begin in the months prior, with official bookings likely to open on launch day.
