The eVX, as it is codenamed, is Maruti Suzuki’s upcoming all-electric crossover, which will mark the company’s entry into the EV market. Maruti Suzuki is yet to reveal key details about the car, including the battery capacity, motor, range and not to forget, its name.
Maruti Suzuki first showcased a prototype of the eVX at the Delhi Auto Expo back in 2023. Subsequently, it was also seen at the inaugural edition of the Bharat Mobility Expo in January this year.
Maruti Suzuki will showcase a production-ready version of the eVX at the Delhi Auto Expo next year, followed soon by its official launch. It will be launched in international markets first, like the Japanese and European markets, but will soon make its way to India.
As per reports, Suzuki will manufacture its first all-electric car at one of its plants in India. This made in India electric car will be exported to other markets and will be sold in the country itself as well.
As the eVX is being jointly developed with Toyota under Maruti Suzuki & Toyota’s global alliance, we will also see Toyota’s own version of the eVX, which will follow the launch of Maruti Suzuki’s eVX.
Once launched, the Maruti Suzuki eVX electric crossover will possibly rival cars such as the new Tata Curvv EV, upcoming Hyundai Creta EV, MS ZS EV, BYD Atto 3 and one of Mahindra’s upcoming line of electric SUVs.
