Maruti Suzuki is finally set to expand its Arena SUV lineup, which currently includes only the Brezza, despite Arena’s presence across 3,000+ dealerships nationwide. The upcoming SUV aims to fill the gap between the Brezza and the Nexa-sold Grand Vitara, targeting mass-market SUV buyers.
The SUV is rumoured to launch under either the "Escudo" or "Victoris" nameplate. It's possible one name could be used for the Indian market and the other for exports. A final confirmation is expected around the launch date—September 3, 2025.
The upcoming SUV is set to become Arena’s most tech-loaded model yet, offering features like Level-2 ADAS, six airbags, ESP, hill-hold assist, surround view camera, head-up display, front ventilated seats, powered tailgate, panoramic sunroof, and even Dolby Atmos audio integration.
The SUV is likely to carry the trusted 1.5-litre NA petrol engine (103PS/138Nm) seen in other Maruti cars, paired with a 5-speed manual and 6-speed automatic gearbox. A CNG version is expected too, along with AWD automatic and strong hybrid variants in higher trims.
Strategically slotted above the Brezza and below the Grand Vitara, the new SUV will aim to bridge the pricing and feature gap between the two models, giving mass-market buyers a premium alternative within the Arena dealership network.
