Skoda Elroq is the Czech manufacturer’s upcoming all-electric SUV that will be based on the Volkswagen Group’s MEB platform. Following the Skoda Enyaq, the Elroq is set to be Skoda’s second electric SUV to be launched in global markets.
The Elroq is the first car featuring Skoda’s new ‘Modern Solid’ design language. As seen in the teaser video, it gets a light bar that spans through the whole front end of the car with segmented DRLs at the ends, rear lights similar to the ones seen on the Skoda Enyaq, and a blacked-out closed front grille.
As confirmed by Skoda earlier, the upcoming Skoda Elroq SUV will be offered with four options for the powertrain, and the trims shall be named Elroq 50, Elroq 60, Elroq 85, and Elroq 85x.
Elroq 50 – 170PS rear motor – 55kWh battery pack
Elroq 60 – 204PS rear motor – 63kWh battery pack
Elroq 85 – 286PS rear motor – 82kWh battery pack
Elroq 85x - front and rear motors – 299PS combined output – 82kWh battery pack
Skoda Auto is going to unveil the Skoda Elroq on October 3, 2024 at Prague, the capital of Czech Republic. We expect Skoda to reveal more details about the Elroq along with a complete look of the car at the unveiling.
It is unclear as of now whether the Skoda Elroq will make its way to India or not. But we do expect Skoda to bring certain trims of the Elroq as the compact SUV segment is booming in the country and electric adoption has been growing recently as well. Skoda is planning to launch the Skoda Enyaq in India sometime in 2025.
