The next-gen Hyundai i20 features a redesigned front fascia with new LED headlamps, repositioned DRLs, and a sculpted bonnet. Updates also include a sportier grille, restyled bumpers, sharp body contours, new dual-tone alloys, and revised tail-lights, enhancing its modern, dynamic appeal.
While the cabin hasn't been officially revealed, it’s expected to include a curved display merging the infotainment and instrument cluster. Hyundai may also boost safety with an ADAS suite, possibly similar to the systems found in the Venue or Creta.
Globally, the i20 will continue with updated petrol and mild-hybrid engines. In India, the 1.2L NA petrol (84PS) and 1.0L turbo-petrol (120PS) are expected to remain, with the possible addition of a new hybrid-ready 1.2L turbo-petrol engine from the Bayon.
Despite speculation, a fully electric i20 isn’t expected. Hyundai is likely to position the upcoming Ioniq 2—set for debut at the Munich Motor Show—as its compact EV alternative.
The global debut of the fourth-gen i20 is planned for 2027, following an official reveal in 2026. In India, the new i20 is expected during the 2027–28 financial year. Meanwhile, Hyundai will launch the Bayon crossover in mid-2026.
