Renault Kwid EV spotted in India

The Renault Kwid EV, known globally as the Dacia Spring EV, has been spotted on test again. The test mule was heavily camouflaged and featured styled wheels, rear wiper and an antenna.

Expected as Renault’s first EV in India

Renault had previously announced plans to introduce an A-segment electric hatchback in India. The spotted vehicle is expected to be the first electric offering by Renault in the Indian market.

Exterior and design highlights

The Kwid EV retains the original silhouette but features modern updates like Y-shaped LED tail lamps, split LED headlights, and a revised grille. It maintains a compact SUV look with front and rear skid plates and side body cladding.

Interior and features

The cabin includes a refreshed dashboard with a 10.1-inch infotainment system supporting wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. It also gets a 7-inch digital instrument cluster, 3-spoke steering, cruise control, reverse camera, and power windows.

Powertrain and charging

Globally, the Dacia Spring EV uses a 26.8kWh battery and a 65PS motor, offering a 225km range. Charging options include a 7kW AC charger and 30kW DC fast charger (20–80% in 45 minutes).
