The second-gen Audi Q5 hybrid has been officially revealed on the global stage. This next-gen plug-in hybrid will be offered in both Standard and Sportback versions. It comes with upgraded performance, a more powerful battery, and a refreshed set of features to round it off.
Under the hood, the new Audi Q5 plug-in hybrid churns out 251PS from its 2.0-litre TFSI engine, paired with a synchronous motor that delivers a peak output of 142PS. It comes mated to Audi’s quattro all-wheel-drive system as standard. The standout upgrade is the larger 25.9kWh battery, positioned at the rear.
The new Audi Q5 hybrid comes with two combined power outputs. One delivers 299PS and accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 6.2 seconds, while the other packs 367PS, reaching 100 km/h in just 5.1 seconds. It claims a top speed of 250km/h.
The new Audi Q5 Plug-In hybrid comes with two driving modes: EV mode, where it runs exclusively on electric power, and Hybrid mode, which comes with a system that maintains battery charge to save energy for later use.
More new updates on the Audi Q5 hybrid include a sleek digital slider that lets you customise your desired charge level with ease. Plus, the AC charging capacity has been upgraded to 11 kW, allowing a full recharge to 100% in just 2.5 hours.
Additional updates to the second-gen Audi Q5 hybrid include improved regenerative braking for a smoother ride. The 299PS variant features sporty S suspension and three-zone automatic climate control for added comfort. Meanwhile, the 367PS version comes standard with LED headlights plus and LED rear lights pro, boosting both style and visibility.
The new Q5 e-hybrid is set to launch in Australia in the fourth quarter of this year. As for India, there's no official word yet on when it will hit the market.
