Skoda India has recalled over 25,000 units of its India 2.0 model range, which includes the Kylaq, Slavia, and Kushaq, due to a critical seatbelt safety issue.
The recall addresses a defect in the seatbelt buckle latch plate, which could break during a frontal impact, potentially compromising the rear passenger safety. It may also lead to failure in the rear seatbelt webbing and right-side buckle.
A total of 25,772 units manufactured between May 24, 2024, and April 1, 2025, are impacted. Skoda will reach out to customers, and the repairs will be offered free of cost.
Owners can verify their car’s VIN on the Skoda India recall webpage or visit a local dealership to confirm if their vehicle is part of the recall and get the necessary fix.
Earlier, Skoda recalled 14 units of Slavia and Kushaq manufactured between November 29, 2023, and January 1, 2024, due to a missing weld seam on the track control arm, posing a risk to vehicle stability and safety.
