The Skoda Kylaq scores slightly higher (30.88/32) than the Kia Syros (30.21/32), thanks to its better frontal impact performance. However, the Syros shines in side impact protection with a perfect 16/16 score, compared to Kylaq’s 15.84.
The Kylaq again leads with a perfect dynamic score (24/24) and a total of 45/49, while the Syros scores 44.42/49. Both offer ISOFIX, support legs, and manual airbag cut-off switches, but Kylaq provides slightly better crash protection for child occupants.
Both SUVs are well-equipped with standard safety features such as Frontal and side airbags, ESC, Pedestrian protection and Seat Belt Reminders. Neither offers knee airbags or integrated child restraints, and ISOFIX is limited to the rear outboard seats.
The Kia Syros gains an edge in active safety, offering Level-2 ADAS features in higher variants—including auto emergency braking and adaptive cruise control. These features are absent in the Skoda Kylaq, which limits its proactive safety systems.
The Skoda Kylaq is the safer SUV overall, with higher scores in both adult and child protection tests. However, the Kia Syros closes the gap with its impeccable side impact results and the added benefit of advanced driver-assist technologies in its top trims.
