The Indonesia-spec Suzuki Fronx was recently tested by ASEAN NCAP under the 2021–2025 assessment protocol and came away with an overall score of 77.70 points. That’s good enough for a five-star safety rating.
The Suzuki Fronx scored a total of 29.37 for adult occupant protection in its crash tests. In the offset frontal test, it earned 13.74 points, while the side impact test added 7.63. Its head protection technology evaluation contributed 8.00 points. Overall, the results indicate the Fronx delivers reliable protection for occupants across different types of crashes.
In child occupant protection, the Suzuki Fronx earned a total score of 38.94. The dynamic test contributed 17.94 points, the vehicle-based assessment added 9 and installation scored 12. It received zero in child detection highlighting a gap in alert systems for monitoring children in the car.
The Suzuki Fronx performed across multiple tests in the ASEAN NCAP safety assist category. It scored 6.00 in effective braking and avoidance, 4.50 for seatbelt reminders, 3.00 in autonomous emergency braking, and another 3.00 for advanced safety assist technologies. Altogether these added up to a total score of 16.50.
In the motorcyclist safety category, the Suzuki Fronx scored 4.80 for blind spot detection on both nearside and offside. It received zero in the advanced rear visualisation test, while the automatic high-beam headlight earned 1.20 points. Pedestrian protection scored 2 points, and advanced motorcyclist safety technologies also scored zero.
The crash test results for the Suzuki Fronx apply specifically to the 1.5 6AT variant, with the tested model originating from Indonesia. These results aren’t limited to Indonesia alone—they are relevant for other markets in the region as well, including Cambodia, Laos, Malaysia, the Philippines, Thailand, and Vietnam.
The Maruti Suzuki Fronx currently on sale in India hasn’t been tested yet by either Bharat NCAP or Global NCAP. Earlier this year, however, the India-origin Fronx earned a 4-star rating in the Japan NCAP crash test, achieving an overall score of 84%. In preventive safety, it scored 79.42 out of 85.8 points, while its collision safety performance was 76.33 out of 100.
