Tata Motors has launched the updated Altroz facelift, with prices starting from Rs 6.89 lakh (ex-showroom, New Delhi). A notable addition is the 5-speed AMT transmission option for the petrol variant, which was previously unavailable.
Tata is preparing to launch the Altroz CNG with AMT, making it the only premium hatchback in India to offer a CNG option paired with an AMT. This aims to broaden appeal, especially for first-time buyers.
The Altroz is now the only car in its segment to offer two automatic transmission choices — AMT for budget-conscious users and DCT for premium-seeking customers, enhancing its market versatility.
The upcoming Altroz CNG AMT will use the 1.2-litre engine (73.5PS/103Nm in CNG mode) seen in the Tiago and Tigor CNG AMT. It also features a dual-CNG cylinder setup, allowing for retained boot space — a rarity in the segment.
The Altroz facelift introduces a revamped dashboard design with gold accents, a gold-finished steering wheel, and a new gear selector. Feature highlights include a 10.25-inch infotainment system, digital display and electric sunroof.
