Following the footsteps of its electric counterpart, the Tata Curvv ICE made its way to our roads sometime back. It gets both petrol and diesel powertrains and features Tata’s new DCT gearbox.
Bharat NCAP has released the crash test report of the Tata Curvv ICE along with the Curvv EV. The Curvv too, has secured 5 stars in the test, both for Adult Occupation Protection as well as Child Occupation Protection.
The Curvv scored five out of five stars for Adult Occupant Protection. It secured 29.50 points out of a maximum of 32 points. A detailed crash test report can be accessed from the BNCAP official website.
The Child Occupant Protection rating stood at 5 starts as well, with the Curvv securing 43.66 points out of a maximum of 49 points. There was a marginal difference between the performance of the Curvv EV and Curvv ICE.
Akin to the Curvv EV, the ICE versions too, get plenty of standard safety features such as 6 airbags, anti-glare IRVM, ESC, ABS with EBD, reverse parking sensors, and more. Optional features include a Level-2 ADAS suite, 360-degree cameras, TPMS, and more.
Crash test ratings aren’t the sole or the most accurate indicators that reflect how safe would the occupants be in the event of a crash. Also, other factors that should be considered in order to determine how safe a car is are driver comfort, driver assistance systems, structural integrity of the vehicle and more.
