Tata Harrier EV scores full points in AOP test — Five starts in BNCAP

Harrier EV Bharat NCAP safety rating

Tata Motors extends its five-star safety streak with the Harrier EV, which has secured top ratings in both adult and child occupant protection under the Bharat NCAP crash tests. It becomes the latest model in Tata’s lineup to demonstrate exceptional safety standards.

Adult occupant protection

The Harrier EV scored a perfect 32 out of 32 points in adult occupant protection, joining the Mahindra XEV 9e as the only SUV to achieve this feat. Both front crash test dummies showed ‘good’ protection across all body regions. The SUV was also rated ‘OK’ in the side pole impact test.

Child occupant protection

In child occupant protection, the Harrier EV earned 45 out of 49 points, again matching the Mahindra XEV 9e. It received full marks in the dynamic (24/24) and CRS installation (12/12) tests, and 9/13 in vehicle assessment.

Safety features

The Harrier EV comes equipped with standard safety features like up to 7 airbags airbags, ESC, ISOFIX mounts on rear outboard seats, three-point seatbelts with reminders, and a passenger airbag cut-off switch. It also complies with AIS-100 pedestrian safety norms.

Variants tested and ADAS availability

Bharat NCAP tested the top-spec Empowered 75 and Empowered 75 AWD variants, though the safety rating applies to the entire Harrier EV range. The fully-loaded Empowered trim additionally offers an ADAS suite for enhanced safety.
