Tata Motors saw a modest 2% drop in domestic sales for August 2025, closing the month at 68,482 units. Meanwhile, exports of passenger and commercial vehicles continued to climb sharply, posting a 178.3% year-over-year growth.
Tata Motors’ passenger vehicle sales in August stood at 41,001 units, marking a 7% decline compared to 44,142 units sold during the same period last year. Meanwhile, export sales reached 2,314 units.
Tata’s commercial vehicle sales, both domestic and export, grew by 10% in August, reaching 29,863 units compared to 27,207 units in August 2024.
Tata’s electric vehicle sales continue to gain momentum, rising 44% year-on-year to 8,540 units from 5,935 in August 2024. On a month-on-month basis, the brand also posted a solid 20% increase, showing steady progress in the EV segment.
On a month-on-month basis, Tata Motors’ passenger vehicle sales grew by 3.74%. Overall sales, including both passenger and commercial vehicles, rose slightly at 3.83%. Export sales showed a significant jump, climbing 47.75% compared to the previous month.
