Tata Motors plans to launch 7 brand-new models in India over the next five years. These will include: Tata Sierra, two Avinya EVs, two new internal combustion engine (ICE) models and two new electric vehicles (EVs).
Alongside new launches, Tata Motors will roll out 23 updates to its existing lineup. These are expected to include mid-life facelifts and model year updates. Anticipated updates may include new versions of the Harrier (petrol), Safari (petrol), Nexon, Punch, Curvv, and their EV counterparts.
Tata recently launched the Altroz facelift to strengthen its hold in the premium hatchback segment, and the Harrier EV, which features a quad motor drivetrain. The Harrier EV aims to elevate Tata’s position in the premium EV space.
Tata Motors’ EV market share has declined from 85% to 55%, driven by increased competition from brands like Mahindra and MG Motor India. The Harrier EV is expected to play a critical role in Tata’s EV revival strategy.
Tata’s product expansion strategy mirrors Hyundai’s roadmap, which includes 26 new models (6 EVs) by 2030. Tata’s plan to launch 30 vehicles by 2030 aligns with this competitive trajectory in the Indian automotive market.
