Tata Motors sold 69,131 vehicles in July 2025. Commercial vehicles and EVs were the highlights, growing 7% and 12% year over year. But not everything moved in the right direction. Passenger vehicle sales, which include EVs, dropped—mainly because of a 12% dip in domestic demand. On the other hand, exports went up noticeably, helping cushion the overall decline.
Passenger vehicle sales, including both ICE and EV models, came in at 39,521 units in July 2025, a 12% decline from 44,725 in July 2024. The domestic market was the main drag, but exports offered a silver lining. Tata shipped 654 units overseas, a sharp increase from just 229 a year ago.
Commercial vehicle sales in July hit 28,956 units, up 7% from 27,042 in July 2024. Most of that growth came from the domestic market, which accounted for 26,436 units. Exports contributed 2,524 units—modest in volume but part of the overall upward trend.
Tata’s presence in the electric vehicle segment continues to strengthen. In July 2025, EV sales reached 7,124 units with a 12% increase over the 5,027 units sold in July 2024. The month-over-month growth was even better, rising 36.25% from June.
Tata’s total domestic sales in July 2025, across passenger and commercial vehicles, came in at 65,953 units, down 6% from 70,161 a year ago. Exports, however, rose to 2,456 units from 1,457 last July. Compared to June, domestic sales edged up 1.44%, while exports surged 29.39%.
