Tesla is officially entering the Indian market with the inauguration of its first dealership on July 15, 2025, in Mumbai, Maharashtra. The brand’s first experience centre will open at Jio World Drive, spanning 4,000 sq ft, located near Apple’s flagship store. A second outlet is also planned for Aerocity, New Delhi.
The Mumbai and Delhi outlets will serve as Tesla’s first physical touchpoints in India, offering immersive brand experiences rather than traditional car sales formats.
Although Tesla hasn’t confirmed the Indian model lineup, the Model Y is expected to be the first offering. Multiple sightings of the camouflaged Model Y on Indian roads support these claims. This updated version brings refreshed styling, a sleeker design, and enhanced cabin quality compared to the earlier iteration.
The updated Model Y gets split LED headlights, connected front and rear LED lightbars, and refined alloy wheels. The cabin maintains Tesla’s trademark minimalist layout, but now includes better quality materials, touchscreens for both front and rear passengers, heated and ventilated seats, a powered tailgate, glass roof, and self-driving capabilities.
Tesla offers the Model Y in three variants: Standard RWD, Long Range RWD, and Long Range AWD. The Long Range AWD variant offers a 622 km range (WLTP) and accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in just 4.8 seconds, with a top speed exceeding 200 km/h.
