Mercedes has taken the wraps off its latest concept car, and there’s lots to talk about this one. Here are five things to know about the new Mercedes-AMG GT XX concept EV.
The car uses axial flux motors instead of radial flux motors. These are compact, lighter, and more powerful than the latter.
With a drag coefficient of just 0.198, the Mercedes-AMG stresses heavily on aerodynamics for enhanced performance and better range.
With a design that seems to be inspired from certain Italian and British cars, the AMG GT XX gets a Panamericana grille at the front, active aero bits on the wheels, circular rear lights, and an aggressive bonnet design.
Being a concept, there’s all sorts of drama inside the cabin, including an F1-style steering wheel, thick orange illuminated pipes, and a focus on sustainable materials. And, there’s space for four.
The axial flux motors that we spoke of before, the car gets three of them. Combined output stands at a whopping 1,341PS. Battery specs are yet to be revealed.
