Along with the virtual launch of the Nissan Magnite CNG, Nissan also took the opportunity to clear up the ongoing rumours about its possible exit from the Indian market. Along with that, the company shared a few updates on its upcoming plans, confirming two new SUVs and an MPV.
The Triber-based Nissan MPV, from the teased images, seems to have a boxy profile with a stylish headlamp setup, a wide grille, and a slightly muscular shoulder line. On the inside, it will come with a 7-seater configuration and is said to share its platform with the Renault Triber.
The upcoming Nissan MPV is expected to come with a 1.0L naturally aspirated petrol engine, paired with either a 5-speed manual or an AMT, similar to the Renault Triber. It is also anticipated to have a 1.0L petrol engine option.
The launch timeline for the upcoming Triber-based Nissan MPV is confirmed for the first quarter of next year, between January and March 2026.
The pre-production of the upcoming Nissan MPV has already begun at Renault’s Chennai plant. It is also said that this MPV might be named the Nissan Gravite.
Nissan has set a milestone goal to reach 100,000 units in annual domestic sales and exports from India.
