Spy shots of a camouflaged test mule of a Mahindra SUV have been surfacing online, and here’s what we think about it.
While certain media reports suggest it to be the next-gen Bolero, we think it might rather be the next-gen Mahindra XUV500, which will primarily rival the likes of the Tata Harrier.
The spy shots reveal that the test mule had a multi-link suspension setup at the rear, which is likely to be on board a premium SUV rather than an affordable one like the Bolero.
You can make out a Defender-like side profile, with a boxy silhouette and pronounced wheel arches. Other notable features include flush door handles, round headlamps, chunky ORVMs, and a large front grille.
Expected to be showcased in a concept form on this year’s Independence Day, we expect the SUV to be officially launched sometime next year, though the carmaker is yet to confirm the same.
