As confirmed by Renault, the new-gen Renault Duster SUV will debut in India next year and will take on rivals like the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos and other mid-size SUVs in India. Here are the top things you must know ahead of the launch of this popular SUV.
For starters, the new Renault Duster gets a bold and masculine exterior styling which gives it a modern touch along with a rugged road presence. Upfront, it boasts a boxy layout complemented by Y-shaped DRLs, split headlamps and a strong fascia. The side profile is dominated by large wheel arches while the rear too is similar to the front with prominent character lines and LED lights.
The new-gen Renault Duster is underpinned by the same CMF-B platform which also underpins multiple other Renault and Nissan SUVs in the global markets. In terms of dimensions, the new Duster is 4360mm long, 1822mm wide and measures 1695mm in height. The wheelbase on the other hand is 2673mm.
Inside, the new Duster gets a double-layer dashboard with a dark colour theme. The centre console now gets a floating infotainment display along with a horizontal panel for the HVAC system. The steering wheel too is new and so is the new instrument console.
On the features front, the new Renault Duster gets a wireless charging pad, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, auto climate control, Arkamys 3D sound system, ADAS safety suite, a sunroof, and more. The Indian=spec version is likely to get all these features.
In the global markets, the new Duster is offered with three engine options – 1.6-litre strong hybrid petrol, 1.2-litre turbo petrol and 1.2-litre bi-fuel petrol. All these engines not only boast impressive performance but cater to different sets of consumers. The 1.2-litre turbo motor is also offered with a 4X4 setup.
From what we know so far, the new-gen Renault Duster is likely to launch in India somewhere in 2024. Once launched, it will directly lock horns with the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Skoda Kushaq, Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara, Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder and the Honda Elevate.
