Volkswagen India has officially confirmed the launch date of the Golf GTI, which is said to be May 26.
Volkswagen India has already received bookings for the first batch of the Golf GTI, consisting of 150 units. Bookings were available only through the brand’s online portal and may see some cancellations once the official pricing is announced.
The Golf GTI sports a distinctive front fascia with a slim grille merging into LED headlights and a sporty bumper with vertical air intakes. It rides on bold 19-inch alloy wheels and features slim LED tail lights and twin round exhaust tips around the back.
Inside, the cabin is focused on the driver with a slightly angled central touchscreen that supports wireless smartphone connectivity. The sporty atmosphere is amplified by a GTI-branded steering wheel, aluminium pedals, and contoured sports seats.
At its core is a 2.0-litre turbo-petrol engine producing 265PS and 370Nm, paired with a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission. Power is sent to the front wheels, aided by a limited-slip differential, enabling a 0–100 km/h sprint in under 6 seconds.
