Reason behind the recall

As per the Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers (SIAM), in the case of a front-end collision, there’s a possibility that the rear seatbelt’s buckle latch plate could break. Additionally, the webbing of the rear center seatbelt and the buckle of the rear right seatbelt may not function as expected.

This isn’t the first recall for these models

Last October, a recall was issued for both the Volkswagen Virtus and Taigun due to a potential issue with the welding process. In certain situations, this could cause a sudden loss of vehicle stability and control without any warning. At that time, 38 units were affected by the recall.
