The Volkswagen Tayron India launch is approaching soon. It will be a 3-row SUV, a segment that hasn’t been seen in India since the Tiguan Allspace was discontinued. This model was recently spotted testing on Indian roads without camouflage. It is expected to be brought to India through the CKD route.
The VW Tayron exterior is expected to look much like the internationally sold Tayron model. In India, it is also likely to have a similar clean and minimalistic design, with a large floating infotainment screen, a three-spoke steering wheel, and a simple interior featuring fewer buttons.
The Volkswagen Tayron features are anticipated to include a 15-inch infotainment touchscreen, 10.25-inch fully digital instrument cluster, HUD, multiple-zone climate control, adjustable driver seat, wireless phone charging, panoramic sunroof, ambient lighting, parking sensors, several airbags, and Level 2 ADAS, among others.
The VW Tayron is expected to be powered by the familiar 2.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine, paired with a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission. It delivers 204PS of power and 320Nm of torque. There are also talks that the model might come with a diesel engine, but this hasn’t been confirmed yet.
According to CarDekho, the Volkswagen India launch timeline is confirmed to happen after the Diwali festival, which falls on October 21 this year.
The upcoming Volkswagen Tayron 3-row will compete with models like the Jeep Meridian, Skoda Kodiaq, Toyota Fortuner, and the upcoming MG Majestic.
