Volvo has recently teased its upcoming Volvo EX60 Electric on social media, offering an early look at the brand’s next premium electric midsize SUV. Once it launches, it will become the brand’s third all-electric SUV, joining the EX40 and EX90 in Volvo’s growing EV lineup. The EX60 EV is an all-electric version of the XC60 SUV and will be built on the new SPA3 platform.
The teaser for the Volvo EX60 Electric design reveals a familiar yet sharper look. The Thor’s Hammer DRLs now use multiple cubic-shaped lights, while the rear gets upside-down L-shaped LED taillights and a tilted vertical LED strip by the window. The silhouette remains close to the ICE version, with expected highlights like a closed-off grille, alloy wheels, a hood spoiler, and fog lamps.
Volvo says the upcoming EX60 EV will deliver faster charging and a longer range than any Volvo yet. It will also introduce the new multi-adaptive safety belt, designed to adjust in real time to both traffic conditions and the person wearing it, using data from the car’s advanced sensors.
The Volvo EX60 EV is scheduled to debut globally on 21 January 2026. The launch in India is anticipated to follow sometime in 2027, allowing the brand time to coordinate production and market rollout for the new electric SUV.
The Volvo EX90 electric production will begin at the Torslanda plant near Gothenburg in the first half of 2026. This facility will handle the rollout, ensuring the new electric SUV is ready for customers worldwide.
What’s more interesting is that there’s also a hint at the locally assembling of this EV on the Indian ground, suggesting Volvo may produce it in India in the future rather than relying solely on imports.
