Maruti Suzuki is going to add an all-new SUV to its lineup in India on September 3, 2025, and here’s what to expect from it.
The Escudo will be positioned between the Brezza and the Grand Vitara, and will lock horns with popular compact SUVs like the Hyundai Creta, Honda Elevate, Skoda Kushaq, Kia Seltos, and more.
The Escudo will be sold through Maruti Suzuki Arena dealerships, and will be Arena’s flagship offering. As confirmed by our trusted sources, it won’t be called the Victoris, contrary to certain media reports.
With the Brezza starting from Rs 8.69 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi), and the Grand Vitara from Rs 11.42 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi), it is sensible to expect the Escudo to start somewhere around the Rs 10 lakh mark.
Our sources also confirm that the Escudo will get a hybrid powertrain, in addition to a standard petrol engine. It is also likely to come with the option of a factory-fitted CNG kit.
Entering a highly competitive segment, the Escudo is bound to come loaded with features. Expected features include a panoramic sunroof, Dolby Atmos integrated sound system, powered tailgate, ventilated seats, and more.
