Sell Used Tata Cars In India

Tata Motors is a subsidiary of Tata Group, an Indian conglomerate founded by Jamshedji Tata in 1869. In 1945, Tata started manufacturing locomotives and since then has become a leading global manufacturing company, with the motto of Connecting Aspirations. It has an extensive range of cars, sports utility vehicles, trucks, buses and defense vehicles. To sell used Tata Cars, the company also has a platform to buy used Tata Cars and sell second hand Tata cars. Currently, Tata has ten cars on sale in India under three segments: hatchback, sedan, and SUV ranging from Rs 2.36 lakhs to Rs 15 lakhs (ex-showroom, New Delhi).

India’s largest and the only original equipment manufacturer, it offers an extensive range of integrated, smart and e-mobility solutions. The company, today, has a strong global network of subsidiaries and associate companies, including Jaguar Land Rover in the UK and Tata Daewoo in South Korea. It is present in over 175 countries, with a worldwide network comprising over 6,600 touch points.

Tata - Resale Value

Of all the factors one considers before buying a new car, resale value is one among the most vital. People these days change cars more frequently than before and therefore prefer if the car they are going to buy has a good resale value, which, of any car depends on various factors: brand, performance, exterior condition, interior condition, mechanical condition, drive-trains and seasonal demand, paint color, and mileage. Tata, being an Indian carmaker has an advantage in major factors when it comes to used Tata cars. Its parts are cheap and service centers can easily be found in any part of the country. As it has a low maintenance cost, people prefer Tata over many international brands—both first hand and Tata pre-owned cars. Cars like Zest and Bolt, in fact, have added stars to the company’s reputation, adding worth to its resale value.

Tata History

Formerly known as Tata Engineering and Locomotive Company Ltd, Tata Motors was established in 1945 as a branch of Tata Group to manufacture locomotives. It constructed its first commercial vehicle in 1954 after collaborating with Daimler Benz AG, which ended in 1969. The company, in 1991, entered the market of passenger vehicles with the launch of Sierra. Post-entering the passenger segment, the company became the first Indian company to manufacture a competitive automobile on its own and, grew up to acquire Daewoo Commercial Vehicles Company in 2004 and purchase Jaguar Land Rover from Ford in 2008. World famous football striker, Lionel Messi, became the company’s brand ambassador to endorse and promote Tata Motor passenger vehicles on a global level. Since then, even value of used Tata Cars has been uplifted.

The company has vehicle assembly operations in India, England, South Korea, Thailand, Spain, and South Africa, which, further are planned to extend in Turkey, Indonesia, and Eastern Europe.

Tata – What makes it Unique?

  • Experience: As an Indian company, no other motor company in India has a good experience as Tata. As a group, in fact, the company has more than a century old experience which teaches the company how to run a business in its own nation.
  • Indianness: It is a home company so spare parts can easily be managed, even in the remote parts of the country, which makes life easy for Tata car owners. Good thing is that you can find parts of old Tata cars also quite easily, unlike many of the new cars from International makers.
  • Company Value: Tata is known for its brand value, a company that works on its 100-year old philosophy even today. More than profit, it sees customer satisfaction.
  • Low Maintenance: Unlike German or American car makers, Tata Cars have low maintenance which makes it affordable for its car users. People who have used Tata cars never face maintenance issues.
  • High Mileage: Be it yesterday’s Indica or today’s Nano, beating Tata has not been an easy job. And in the era when fuel prices are touching the sky, this factor counts. At least, for intelligent geniuses!
  • Resale Value: With a few recent products and company takeovers, Tata’s technology has improved, which is clearly seen in the coming cars, leading to a good resale value of not only new cars but Tata old cars as well.
  • Value for Money: Tata cars are affordable, with great mileage, have a low maintenance cost and high resale value. No doubt, they are value for money and highly suggested.

Sell Used Tata Cars in India

Tata cars are a common man’s cars. Though many people have not liked a few of its cars, it has always come up with strong rivals to the leading cars in India. It soon became a loved car because of its excellent fuel economy, powerful engine, spacious interiors, and an aggressive marketing strategy. Indica ruled the Indian market for years before the production ended and Safari had no competitor for long, a car that still stands on its reputation. Tata cars have always kept in mind the people, roads, and environment of its nation. Not the best, but used Tata cars still have a good resale value.

Few Factors that you can consider before buying a used Tata car or if you plan to sell used Tata cars are:

•    Demand Vs Supply: Tata doesn’t have a totally flop car in its current segment.
•    Poor after Sales Service: The company has 1000+ centers across India which makes it easy for the owners.
•    Expensive after sales parts: As Tata Cars are built and assembled in India, there are no import duties on its parts, which makes the car parts and servicing cheaper.
•    Fuel efficiency: The best thing about Tata Cars is its mileage. Tata old cars are still in demand because of this factor. Nano is considered to give the mileage of 25 kmpl. Imagine!

Still Confused? Take the Right Decision

Exchange offer. A bad idea!

Well, let us burst this bubble. This will never happen. Do you know what actually happens in an Exchange offer? Let us explain it to you.

There is a negotiation on the value of your used car. The sales executive will smartly offer you a higher price than what CARS24 is offering for your used car. This is the salesman’s way of gaining your trust by making you believe you got an amazing deal for your used car. This is a trap! What the salesman has done is that while negotiating a deal for the new car, he will give you significantly less discount than what he could have actually offered. Why don’t you test it out yourself?

Go to a new car dealership to buy a car. Separately, send a friend/family member to buy a new car in exchange of their used car. You would learn that the extra money offered for your used car would mean a smaller discount on your new car. Who will bear the loss for this? Definitely you!

Instead, get the best price for your used car on CARS24 and negotiate hard when you purchase a new car.

Selling on classified websites? Don't

First, let us tell you how CARS24 gets you the best price: we have long term, volume contracts with OEMs, corporates, leasing companies, car rental companies, etc who want your car to grow their business. That is how we get you the best price for your car.

So you don't need to look anywhere else. However let's still address your other options. Classified websites are likely to show much higher prices for your car. Honestly, they are arbitrary - almost 50% - 200% higher than the real value! We don't know why they are so poor with their 'price calculators' but trust us, you will know that as soon as you start the process of meeting buyers for your car.

Got a good deal? Check ours.

You could go ahead and sell your car directly to a consumer but do you know it could take months before you actually complete the transaction? Do you have months to spare & time to meet hundreds of individual buyers to find that one perfect buyer for your used car?

By waiting longer you lose more than you gain as your car value depreciates every day you wait. Moreover, transferring the ownership & shifting the liability of your used car over to the new customer could be a very tedious job.
Once you’ve handed over the keys to the new owner of the car, how long will you chase him for the transfer of ownership documents? Obviously you wouldn’t want your used car to land in the wrong hands and this liability is yours.

At CARS24, we guarantee a transparent process where we will get you the best price for your used car, as well as take care of all paperwork, including the transfer of ownership too! The best part being that from the moment you hand over the keys to us, we take full ownership & all liability of the car lies with us!

Found an end buyer? Wait!

When you are planning to buy a new car, waiting longer can help in getting you a better price for it. But this is the exact opposite, when you are trying to sell your existing car.

Even if your existing car has done 0km & maintained impeccably, it’s still losing value every day. Moreover, there are few events like Mega discounts on new cars, Year change, New model launch, that further drop the value of your current car.

Hypothetically, if Honda City announces a new facelift, the existing design might reduce value by 20%. This is fairly common in the car industry. Similarly with year change, you lose 10-20% value. So if you have made up your mind to sell your car, every minute you delay you are losing real cash. Now, go ahead and sell your car to CARS24 and get the best price possible in the market!
