Tata Aria summary

Tata, the home-grown automaker, unveiled the Tata Aria at a starting price of 10.42 lacs (ex-showroom) on 5th January 2010. However, the model was brought to customers on 12th October 2010. Tata Aria officially discontinued the Tata Aria from the market in 2017 due to the lower sales volume and the newly launched vehicle in its replacement, named Tata Hexa. In the year 2017, the last sold price for the top model was 16.44 lacs.

Tata Aria is a 7 seater 4 cylinder car featuring 2 types of diesel variants, 2197 cc and 2179 cc. You can enjoy the vehicle's ride in manual and automatic transmission.

With a length of 4780 mm, a width of 1895 mm, and a wheelbase of 2850 mm, the Aria's 2.2-litre engine is tuned to deliver 148 bhp and a peak torque of 320 Nm. The top variant is equipped with a 4x4 drive train, while all other models offer a two-wheel drive system.

The car is available only in Diesel engines. Wondering how much the fuel consumption of Aria is? The car runs 15.1 km on every litre it consumes (ARAI Certified).

Tata launched a new generation of Aria in 2014, considered a significant facelift that was utterly expected from the leading manufacturer.

The car is a bit overpriced. However, the stunning design of the double-barrel headlights with low-beam, funky 5 spoke alloy design, low floor design allowing you to walk into the car effortlessly, and twin chrome exhaust tips gives you a meaty effect.

The competitors of Aria, especially Innova Crysta, left it behind in the race due to its widespread brand recognition and aging customer's trust. This made it pretty easy for Toyota to attract the wholesome customers effortlessly. It was one of the reasons why Aria was discontinued despite making a unique space in the Indian automobile market.

Tata's vision of introducing a roomy vehicle could not garner anticipated sales' volume as expected. However, the power pack seven-seater SUV received a satisfactory response from the bigger families after several cosmetic upgrades with multiple additional equipment. Besides, the car has also undergone many mechanical tweaks to enhance its overall performance in major uplifts.

Aria offers 5 diesel variants- Aria AT, Aria Pleasure, Aria Pride 4x4, Aria Pure LX 4x2, and Aria Pride 4x2. All the variants feature manual transmission except Aria AT, which is equipped with AMT technology. One can own this car in different colours, including Quartz Black, Pearl White, and Arctic Silver.

The car features magnificent fog lamps, multiple slat chrome grille, and sports dual-barrel black bezel projector headlamps. Aria's rear side comes with jazzy clear tail lamps and chrome waistline around windows. The passengers can also adjust and retract the ORVMs electronically.

Furthermore, you are not required to turn on the wipers manually, as the sensor wipers automatically turn them on along with darkness sensing headlamps. The largest Indian automobile company featured the car with premium leather upholstered seats and chrome finished door handles to provide you with a classy touch.

Spending bucks ranging between 11.43 lacs to 16.44 lacs can make Tata Aria entirely yours.

The car locks horns with the Mahindra Xylo, Maruti Ertiga, Renault Duster, and Toyota Innova Crysta.

Tata Aria IMAGES

Aria has received a mixed reception since its launch in India. Substantially, the high price of the vehicle got its prospective buyers to think twice before owning it. Contrarily, it would have earned more recognition and appraisal from its potential buyers if the price of the vehicle would be relatively lower.

Tata Aria is a comfortable car with responsive engine performance, fuel economy, and gearbox. Another reason you can opt for this car is its impeccable pickup performance without body roll.

The car is equipped with a robust braking system which includes Electronic Brake Force Distribution (EBD) and Anti-lock Brake System (ABS), preventing you from 'locking' up your brakes or applying acute pressure to your brakes to make the axle and the wheels automatically stop rotating. Additionally, it comes with a great package of 6 airbags, traction control, engine immobiliser, and reverse camera.

It is loaded with a bunch of comfort features! Want to know them all? So let's get started.

Once you get inside the car, you will see an exquisite driver info system, dual AC with automatic climate control, height adjuster for driver's seat, integrated remote key- keyless entry, superb reverse guide system, rear wiper, and cruise control. Moreover, it provides you with ample trunk space to enable you to go to your destination with ample luggage hassle-free.

Owning this car will get you 235/65 tyres that are wrapped in 17-inch alloy rims. The other variant will bring you 235/70 sized tyres and 16 inches alloy wheels.

The inefficient mileage of the vehicle might pinch your pocket a bit, but if you have a huge family, presumably, you can purchase this 7 seater car.
