Also, this entry-level variant is only offered in a manual gearbox.

If you are looking for a car with a great combination of strength and style, then Tata Safari is the right choice for you. Taking advantage of the approaching festive season of Diwali, Tata launched Safari’s XZ+ Gold Edition, priced around Rs 23.18 lakh. Apart from its aesthetic and visual enhancements, this gold edition has the same features as the typical Safari, 2.0-litre diesel engine, 170hp, 350nm torque, transmission options of 6-speed manual, and automatic gearbox. The Tata Safari Gold Edition, apart from being available in six and seven seating arrangements, is also available in two colour options, Coffee Bean Frost White. Coffee Bean shade due to gold flakes in its paint stands out especially. Under different illumination, the coffee bean shade appears to be black and burgundy. The gold-plated logo in the front is also enveloped by golden tri-arrows and a diving curve that goes till the bottom edge of the gold grille. To set it apart from the other editions, this gold edition comes with premium water buffalo leather seats which are excessively comfortable. The six-seater gold edition also has rear seat ventilation, an exclusive feature not found in previous editions. Owing to safety, the gold edition has similar safety features as earlier models like dual airbags, roll-over mitigation, traction control, corner stability control, and hill hold control. There are eleven main variants of Safari, starting at Rs 14.99 lakh and going up to Rs 23.18 lakh.

Rivals of Tata Safari are MG Hector Plus, Mahindra XUV500, Mahindra XUV700, and Hyundai Alcazar. Still, they will not give you the same aesthetic appeal of a Safari along with its spirit of adventure.

Tata Safari PRO’s & CON’s

  • Things We Like
  • Things we don’t like

The building capacity of the car is of top-class quality with dimensions of 4661 mm length, 1894 mm width, and 1786 mm height. Its robustness is appropriate for off-roading trips.

The SUV offers a selection of three terrain modes, namely, normal, rough, and wet. This allows the driver to manoeuvre roads more skilfully.

The 2.0-litre turbo diesel engine produces sufficient torque, which makes the driving experience incredibly smooth.

Tata Safari is one of the most expensive SUV Tata Motors India offers and that becomes evident the moment you enter the SUV. The smooth dashboard, glossy door panels, and rich-looking upholstery give the SUV a luxury cabin feel.

The front and rear disc brakes provide reliable stopping power. Additionally, the 235/60 sections tires offer excellent balance and comfort grip.

As compared to other SUVs, Tata Safari is quite economical.

Only the top gold edition has rear AC vents.

The steering wheel feels a little heavy, which makes driving in the city limits difficult.

The boot space of 73 litres is not enough compared to rivals like HG Hector plus and Alcazar, which offer a boot space of 155-180 litres.

This economical SUV is not offered with petrol engines.

Although the interiors are of top-notch quality, from the outside, it looks like a Tata Harrier, which does not offer buyers a unique look.

The SUV drives a little stiff at low speeds. However, it gets better when the speed increases.

Many experts have driven the car, both basic and the top model, there have been some negatives but overall, it is a good SUV. As mentioned above, the SUV has many top-notch elements and technologies, making it a good investment. If you love driving or have a large family, Tata Safari is the right choice for you. The top Safari variant is not as versatile as the 4x4 original Safari but aesthetic interiors, well-equipped features, safety measures, and spacious third-row makes it a compelling buy.

Different drive modes and terrain selection are a few of the highlights which cannot be missed. Plush looking interiors and mileage which goes up to 16.14 kmpl are some features no driver would want to miss out on. Its engine and transmission features are almost like its competitor cars, like max power, max torque, and fuel tank capacity; hence, you do not have to wonder if you can have better features in other SUVs. Its facelift and cosmetic enhancements are also more advanced than its rivals. It is a perfect urban SUV that can seat seven people and can easily be managed to both highway and city. However, in the next upgrade, Tata Motors should think about providing rear AC vents in all its models.
