BMW 3 Series GT summary

The BMW 330i GT has long been associated with two important characteristics: speed and luxury. BMW has now enhanced the GT lineup by including the delectable M Sport variant. It's still quick and sumptuous, but we're here to see if it's more appealing than the 330i GT we tested last year.

This new M Sport model is available in Alpine white and Estoril blue, and if we had to choose, we'd go with the latter if you truly want your GT to stand noticed. In a sea of silver, black, and grey-colored luxury automobiles, the iconic BMW color (as seen in the E46 M3, F10 M5, and, more subsequently, the M2) stands out brilliantly.

When 225/60R17 tires are mounted on these metals, the tires swell out a bit, safeguarding the alloys from scuffs and dents. The tires are Falken Wildpeaks, which are dirt and snow certified.

The M Sport variant has sharper appearing 18-inch alloy wheels, kidney bumper slats finished in glossy black, M rear bumper on the front fenders, and M design doorway sills. The 330i GT M Sport keeps the same frameless windshield, coupe-like profile, and sloping roofline as the previous model. The rear bumper, which expands and retracts into the bodywork dependent on speed, may be considered a gimmick, yet it works well against the brilliant blue color.

The M Sport specification adds sharper 18-inch alloy wheels, gloss black triangle grille slats, M badging from the front fenders, and M-designed door sills to the mix. The 330i GT M Sport retains the unframed windows, coupe-like appearance, and sloping roofline of the previous model. The rear spoiler, which expands and retracts depending on speed, may be considered a gimmick, yet it works well against the brilliant blue paint.

The urea combines with nitrogen oxide at high temperatures, turning it into innocuous nitrogen and liquid water. GT warns that the diesel exhaust fluid will need to be replaced after 7000-9000 kilometers of operation.

BMW 3 Series GT LATEST UPDATES

The BMW 3 Series GT is an excellent premium sedan with far more road appearance and personality than many standard sedans, including BMW's own 3 Series. In essence, it's a more upscale 3 with improved rear-seat accommodation and good performance. Unfortunately, the GT variant based on the new G20-gen 3 Series, which has already debuted in India, will no longer be produced by BMW.

The 330i GT M Sport is a notchback with a big boot that can store 520 liters of cargo. If that wasn't enough, the back seats can be laid flat to provide a luggage area of up to 1600 liters, making this BMW extremely useful. The M Sport comes with cruise control with automated braking and a touchscreen infotainment cluster that adapts according to driving mode - all of these features aren't accessible at the Luxury Line level.

BMW has just not added a tonne of extras to the M Sport package, but it does receive a new headliner and a gorgeous three-spoke M steering column. The whole front seats are also altered; they are tight and more suited to hard acceleration because of the added side bolstering. When it comes to comfort, the GT's cabin has a light, airy feel to it that the 3 Series sedan lacks. BMW hasn't added a tonne of extras to the M Sport model, but it does receive a new headliner and a gorgeous three-spoke M steering column. The whole front seats are also altered; they are tight and more suited to spirited driving because of the added side bolstering. The GT's enormous glasshouse and spectacular sunroof and the fact that there is plenty of room contribute to the enhanced sensation of spaciousness. The GT excels in the back, with plenty of legroom and height, as well as a beautifully-contoured backrest.

  • Things We Like
  • Things we don’t like

A spacious and comfortable car.

Operation and preservation costs expenditures are low.

In an exigency, the REVive function can assist extended range.

Straight-line power is explosive, and the back seat is quite accommodating.

The diesel engine yields a lot of low-end torque.

Dampers that are handy and advanced absorb collisions nicely.

The range is limited to 140km.

At this pricing, there aren't many features.

Only the motorist's airbag is required.

Soft suspension can be a nuisance at times, and the price is too similar to that of the larger, more sophisticated 5 Series.

After 3400rpm, there isn't much movement.

The soft suspension arrangement makes it less maneuverable in bends.

There is no way to modify the driver's seat height.

BMW 3 Series GT EXPERT REVIEWS

The GT's enormous glasshouse and wraparound sunroof, as well as the reality that there has been plenty of room, contribute to the enhanced sensation of spaciousness. The GT excels in the back, with plenty of legroom and headroom, as well as a beautifully-contoured backrest. And, because of the extended wheelbase, the 3 GT has legroom and under-thigh assistance comparable to the original 5 Series, which is excellent.

We wouldn't suggest the 3 GT just because of its automatic transmission. The off-road abilities are an important part of its personality, so if you don't plan on utilizing it off-road (as you should! ), stay away. Providing the automatic transmission in cheaper variations, including 4x2 models, is a 'natural thing to do’. The upgraded motor still produces 170 horsepower and 350 pound-feet of torque. It also doesn't drive any differently than the BS4 does. On the other hand, the engine seems much smoother at idling and while driving. The vibrations on the floorboard and the pedal aren't as loud as they formerly were.

The 330i GT is an excellent premium sedan with more road authority and personality than many classic sedans, including BMW's own 3 Series. It's essentially a more upscale 330i with improved back seat comfort and great performance. Is it, however, more appealing than the regular 330i GT? We'd think it is, at least in the unique Estoril blue. It's also tough to overlook all of the M Sport goodies (read: sports seats, wheels, and a digital dashboard) that this car receives above the Luxury Line grade. The main flaw in this package is the comfort-oriented suspensions, which don't do credit to the M-emblem on the fender.
