Honda WR-V

The Honda WR-V is expected to make a comeback in India in an all-new avatar. Honda previously found success with the WR-V, and with rising demand for micro-SUVs, the brand could reintroduce a new-generation Honda WR-V with updated features, styling, and technology.

The new model is likely to be based on the global version launched in Southeast Asian markets. It could offer a bold design, a feature-rich cabin, and modern safety tech. If launched, the new Honda WR-V might share its 1.2-litre petrol engine with the Honda Amaze. In India, it will compete with the likes of Maruti Suzuki Fronx. While Honda is yet to confirm its India launch, an official announcement could arrive in later this year.

The new Honda WR-V price in India is expected to range between ₹ 9 lakh to Rs 16 lakh (ex-showroom). Honda's upcoming sub-4-metre offering will become the smallest model in its Indian lineup. If launched at the expected price, it will find itself positioned in one of the fastest-growing sections of our car market.

The on-road price of the new Honda WR-V will vary based on state taxes, insurance, and optional features. Given Honda’s reputation for reliability, refinement and comfort, the WR-V is likely to attract buyers looking for a stylish and feature-packed micro SUV at a competitive price.

The new Honda WR-V is expected to share its 1.2-litre petrol engine with the Amaze. This motor is known to deliver a good blend of power and fuel efficiency. For the WR-V, this engine will likely produce 90 PS of power and 110 Nm of torque. It will come paired with a 5-speed manual transmission and an optional CVT gearbox for smoother performance.

Honda may also offer a 1.5-litre petrol-hybrid option at a later stage. This will let it take on the upcoming Maruti Suzuki Fronx strong hybrid. However, unlike some rivals, a CNG option won’t be offered. The new Honda WR-V will feature LED lighting, a digital instrument cluster, a touchscreen infotainment system, and advanced safety features like ADAS.

The new Honda WR-V will compete with popular sub-4-metre micro-SUVs like the Maruti Suzuki Fronx, Tata Punch, Toyota Taisor and Citroen C3. Additionally, it will even compete with the naturally-aspirated versions of the Renault Kiger and Nissan Magnite.
