Hyundai Ioniq 9

The Hyundai Ioniq 9 is expected to become the brand’s flagship offering in India. Even globally, the electric SUV will be seen sitting above the Ioniq 7. The luxury electric three-row electric SUV is planned to launch in South Korea and the United States in the first half of 2025. While confirmed details of the Hyundai Ioniq 9 India launch are yet to be made available, we expect it to arrive here in late 2025 or early 2026.

Built on the E-GMP platform, the Hyundai Ioniq 9 will likely feature a high-capacity battery pack, delivering an impressive range suitable for long drives. It is expected to offer a premium interior, advanced ADAS features, and ultra-fast charging. Competing with high-end electric SUVs, the Ioniq 9 will likely help its carmaker establish itself in the electric luxury car market.

The Hyundai Ioniq 9 price in India is expected to be around ₹1.1 crore (ex-showroom). As Hyundai’s flagship electric SUV, the Ioniq 9 will cater to the luxury EV segment, competing with premium electric SUVs from brands like Mercedes-Benz, BMW, and Audi. The expected price could vary based on features and battery options.

The on-road price will include RTO charges, insurance, additional taxes, and state subsidies but this EV will clearly become the most expensive Hyundai car to be ever sold. If launched in India, the Hyundai Ioniq 9 will help the brand establish itself in the fast-growing luxury market. Its cutting-edge technology, long driving range, and ultra-fast charging capabilities could, in fact, make it an attractive proposition for luxury car buyers.

The Hyundai Ioniq 9 specs are expected to include a large battery pack, offering an impressive range of around 600 km on a single charge. Built on Hyundai’s E-GMP platform, the Ioniq 9 will feature dual-motor AWD options. Also, the Hyundai Ioniq 9 range will support ultra-fast charging, enabling an 80% charge in under 30 minutes. The SUV will boast a posh interior, Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS), AWD capabilities, and a high-tech infotainment system.

The electric SUV will offer large dimensions and a 3-row layout with flexible seating options. The interior will offer features like a multi-screen cockpit, eco-friendly upholstery, a high-end audio system, HUD, and even an AI assistant.

The Hyundai Ioniq 9 rivals will include luxury electric SUVs like the Mercedes-Benz EQS SUV, Audi Q8 e-tron, and Tesla Model X. Competing in the luxury electric SUV segment, the Ioniq 9 will offer advanced technology, a long range, and a spacious cabin loaded with many comfort- and convenience-enhancing features.
