I’ve driven this car for 95,000 km over the past 4.5 years, and it’s been a very practical and reliable choice. The maintenance cost is quite reasonable regular servicing usually stays under ₹7,000. The Ertiga stands out for its practicality and fuel efficiency, especially with the CNG variant. Running costs are extremely economical, typically around ₹3–4 per km. Space is a major highlight with the third row folded, there’s ample room for luggage for five people, making it ideal for long road trips. Driving and handling are smooth, although the car can feel slightly underpowered on CNG. Still, considering the low running cost, it's a fair trade-off. It comes with all the essential features and has a 3-star GNCAP safety rating. The resale value is also impressive. I bought it in 2020 for ₹10.35L, and after 4.5 years and 95k km, the resale estimate is around ₹6–7.5L — quite decent. Maruti has also done a good job updating the design and styling, which adds to the car’s appeal.
There are many Indian cars on road which are great and amongst them, i feel, Ertiga is most practical and go-to car for many occasions. It may not handle as well as a sedan, may not be as compact and has high clearance as a compact SUV, may not be as fast as the turbocharged sedan and not spacious as the Innova but it has inherited most of the qualities to become jack of all. It handles decently with a good suspension tuned-well to Indian roads, its ride quality isn't as bad, thanks to its, balanced suspension and comparatively lower seating position than many SUVs. The latest Ertiga with 1.5 litre engine has enough grunt and roar even in CNG mode. Its power and torque specs are enough to pull a family of 7 people in ghat areas and expressway without any strain or lack of power. I feel it has so much balance power left that Maruti can accommodate, a 6th gear, in it, for much improved fuel economy which, even without it, stands at credible 18kmpl in petrol and 28KmpKg in CNG on highway conditions (real world). It has decent ground clearance of 183 mm, which not only, makes it glide over rough roads but also allow elderly and children's, ingress and egress comfortable unlike many SUV
Best car I have ever drive. Mileage is also good.. Safety features is fantastic. You should buy this car..
Based on the feedback, the Ertiga VXI CNG is considered a practical choice for family use, offering good fuel efficiency and ample space for passengers. However, some users express concerns about its performance on highways and the lack of advanced features compared to competitors.
