The Tata Altroz EV is an upcoming electric hatchback based on Tata’s ALFA (Agile, Light, Flexible & Advanced) platform. It was first showcased at the 2019 Geneva Motor Show and later at the 2020 Auto Expo. It is likely to launch soon with Tata’s Ziptron technology. The Altroz EV battery is likely to be a 26 kWh or 30.2 kWh lithium-ion battery pack, offering a range of around 306 km. The electric hatchback will support fast charging, allowing an 80% charge in under an hour.
On the design front, the Altroz EV will look a lot like its ICE sibling. However, it will feature blue accents, aerodynamic alloy wheels, and a closed grille for the signature electric car look. Inside, it will get a digital instrument cluster, connected car features, and a spacious cabin. Competing with the Citroen e-C3, the Altroz EV will become the first ever B2-segment hatchback to offer an electric option. Prices are expected to be competitive due to shared hardware with existing Tata electric cars.
