We can all agree that 2020 was one of the most tragic years the world has ever experienced. However, leaving all the negativity behind, we have started getting back to normal this year and things are looking bright for the coming future. In the automotive industry, everything was abruptly stopped in India during the initial stages of the pandemic but things are slowly getting back to normal once again. Car manufacturers that had to cancel or postpone their launches are now ready to introduce their latest models to the public. Mahindra is just one of the many brands that were forced to delay their releases, however, they have a lineup of cars that would excite anyone. Here are the upcoming Mahindra cars in 2021-2022.

Mahindra TUV300 Plus

The current TUV300 is probably one of the fastest-selling SUVs from Mahindra with clean, sporty looks and a performance that can match up to some of the biggest names in the market. That is why it comes as no surprise that Mahindra is ready to launch the facelifted version of the SUV called TUV300 Plus. The large SUV will be available in a 9-seater configuration which should add a lot more appeal to it. Under the hood, the TUV300 Plus is expected to feature the powerful 2.2L diesel engine that was found in its previous iteration. The engine is expected to generate the same 120Ps of power and 280Nm of torque. It should also be mated to the same 6-speed manual gearbox, Some of the features that are expected to come on the new TUV300 Plus include a manual air-conditioning system, a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity, mobile charging points for the first 2 rows, a height-adjustable driver seat, and steering-wheel-mounted calling and audio controls. In terms of safety, the TUV300 Plus will come with ABS with EBD, dual airbags for the front seats, and parking sensors in the rear.

Mahindra XUV700 AX7

While the much-talked-about XUV700 series has been making headlines, Mahindra is yet to launch the reported AX7 variant. Most of the specifications and features on the upcoming XUV700 AX7 should match those on the already released variants but there could also be some changes in the model. The XUV700 AX7 is expected to be powered by a 2.0L Turbo-petrol engine that generates 200Ps of power and 380Nm of torque. It is the same engine found in the Thar. In the transmission department, the XUV700 AX7 will come with a 6-speed manual gearbox. In terms of features, the SUV will come with a digital instrument cluster, dual-zone automatic climate control, a panoramic sunroof, a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity, a 360-degree camera, and power doors and windows. Safety is also Mahindra’s priority for the XUV700 AX7 and the car comes with features like adaptive cruise control, lane keep assist, 7 airbags, Level 1 Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS), electronic parking brake, and ADS with EBD.

Mahindra XUV300 Turbo Sportz

Initially, Mahindra had plans to launch the upcoming XUV300 Turbo Sportz back in 2020 but the pandemic forced the company to push the launch date back. Expected to be released in November, the XUV300 Turbo Sportz has definitely been gaining some popularity in the country. Powering the XUV300 Turbo Sportz is a BSVI-compliant 1.2L petrol engine that is capable of generating 110Ps of power and 200Nm of torque. This tuning is higher than the regular XUV300 and delivers more power. Mated to the engine is a 6-speed manual gearbox. The SUV is expected to have a mileage of 17.0 kmpl along with a top speed of 175 kmph. Mahindra is expected to include the latest features on the 5-seater, some of which are; power steering, cruise control, keyless entry, voice controls, and a touchscreen infotainment system.

Mahindra eKUV100

The KUV from Mahindra is a compact SUV that delivers on performance, style, and reliability. In order to take things a step further, Mahindra has decided to take one of their best-selling cars and transform it into an Electric Vehicle. The eKUV has been talked about for more than a year now and it seems that it is finally ready to be unleashed into the real world. The car is expected to feature a similar powertrain as the concept Mahindra eVerito which was unveiled at the 2018 Auto Expo. Powering the eKUV 100 will be a 15.9kWh Lithium-ion battery that will give the compact SUV a range of 147 Kms on a full battery. According to the company, the car will have fast charging capabilities that will take the battery from 0-80 percent in a single hour. Mahindra is expected to include a number of upgraded features in the eKUV100 such as location tracking, parking sensors in the rear, over speeding alert, ABS with EBD, dual airbags in the front, and cabin pre-cooling.

Mahindra Scorpio 2022

If there was a single car from Mahindra that could define what the brand stands for, it would have to be the iconic Scorpio. From the very first iteration, the Scorpio has been dominating the SUV segment and now Mahindra is ready to release the latest variant of their best-selling SUV. The Scorpio 2022 is expected to be powered by the same engine found in the Thar – a 2.0L Turbo-petrol engine that could produce more power and torque. There is also talk of a 2.2L diesel engine being included which would follow the previous iterations. In terms of transmission, the Scorpio 2022 is expected to come with a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed automatic gearbox and will be available in either a 2-Wheel-Drive or a 4-Wheel-Drive configuration. Inside, the Scorpio 2022 is expected to get new features such as a large touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity, automatic air-conditioning, cruise control, a sunroof, and wireless charging. For safety, the Scorpio 2022 is expected to come with ABS with EBD, parking sensors in the rear, multiple airbags, Electronic Stability Control, and hill assist control.

Mahindra XUV300 Electric

Mahindra showcased the XUV300 Electric at the Auto Expo 2020 and it seems to be a huge hit in the EV segment. Compared to the regular SUV, the XUV300 Electric looks quite different with a blocked-off front grille and slight upgrades to its design. The headlamps and bumpers have been redesigned to match the modern look of the eSUV. Inside, the XUV300 Electric is more or less the same as the regular variant, however, the touchscreen infotainment system is now in the middle. In terms of power, Mahindra has not yet announced any specifications but it is expected to be quite similar to the Tata Nexon EV. The Nexon EV is fitted with a 30.2kWh Lithium-Ion battery which is capable of delivering a range of about 312 Kms on a full charge. The electric motor on the Nexon EV also produces 129Ps of power along with 245Nm of torque and we could see the same kind of specs coming to the XUV300 Electric.

Mahindra XUV500 2022

Mahindra is set to launch the XUV500 2022 – an upgraded variant of the already available powerhouse SUV. The new XUV500 2022 is expected to house the same 2.0L Turbo-petrol and a 2.2L diesel engine found in the Thar. There is also expected to be a plethora of new features that give the upcoming SUV an edge over its closest competitors like the Tata Harrier, Jeep Compass, and MG Hector. In the transmission department, the upcoming XUV500 is expected to come with a 6-speed manual gearbox as standard and an optional 6-speed automatic transmission as well. On the front, the XUV500 will feature LED headlamps and fog lights while the rear will also come with LED taillights. On the inside, the XUV500 2020 is expected to also come with some major upgrades including a 9-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a digital instrument cluster, and a new panoramic sunroof.

Mahindra S204

Mahindra has confirmed that the upcoming S204 will be a localized variant of the Ssangyong XLV SUV. The India version is expected to look quite similar to the XUV300 that is already in sale in the country right now. However, as seen on the test vehicles, the S204 looks to be slightly bigger than the XUV300. In front, the S204 will feature the regular grille seen on most Mahindra SUVs but will come with a sleeker air dam. In the rear, the S204 also seems to have received some upgrades from the XUV300 and now features the licence plate on the tailgate. Under the hood, the S204 is expected to come with the same BSVI-compliant 1.5L diesel engine found in the Marazzo and XUV300. The latest leaks also state that the upcoming S204 will house a 1.5L Turbocharged petrol engine that will soon be found on the Mahindra Marazzo too.

Mahindra Thar 5-Door

Mahindra is known for their durable off-road vehicles such as the Scorpio and Bolero but there is one name that stands out from the rest in terms of looks and performance – the Thar. Since its first release, the Thar has been one of the biggest hits in the Indian automotive market. Now the company is ready to launch the new Thar 5-Door variant sometime in 2023. In terms of power, the upcoming Thar 5-Door is expected to retain the current 2.0L Turbo-petrol and 2.2L diesel engines with a possibility of getting a higher state of tune in the future. The Thar 5-Door could also come in an affordable 2-Wheel-Drive version. The majority of upgrades are expected to be on the inside with comfortable seats, multifunctional steering options, a bigger driver information display, and an overall modern finish to it than before. Expected upgraded features on the Thar 5-Door include automatic climate control, push-button start/stop, and air-conditioning vents in the rear. Safety will also be important for the Thar 5-Door and it should come with ISOFIX Child Seat Anchors, dual airbags in the front, parking sensors in the rear, and ABS with EBD.
