Founded in 1945, Mahindra is the largest tractor manufacturer in the world and one of the biggest vehicle manufacturers in India. The company excels in rugged SUV cars with models such as the Scorpio, Bolero, XUV, and Xylo, among others, taking over the Indian market. With the competition being as fierce as it already is, Mahindra is gearing up to launch some exciting cars that look to satisfy the needs of potential buyers and give them a reason to prepare RC transfer papers for their used cars. Let’s take a look at the upcoming Mahindra cars that are set to take center stage in the coming months.

|Mahindra XUV500 2020||9.5 Lakh|

|Power||31kW Electric Motor with Lithium-Ion Battery|
When launched, the Mahindra KUV was an exciting prospect for those buyers looking for a micro-SUV. Now, the company is set to launch the electric variant called the eKUV 100 which is Mahindra’s answer to a cleaner, healthier planet. The car is expected to feature a similar power-train as the concept Mahindra eVerito which was unveiled at the 2018 Auto Expo. Powering the eKUV 100 will be a 31kW electric motor that runs on a Lithium-ion battery. According to the company, the car will offer 140 Kms on a single charge while the battery itself brings fast charging capabilities that lets you charge to 80% in just 1 hour. If everything goes to plan, the eKUV 100 will be the first completely electronic micro-SUV in India.
|Expected Launch||February 12, 2020|
|Engine||2.2L mHAWK Diesel|
The Mahindra XUV Aero was first discussed back in 2016 at the Indian Auto Expo and finally has begun its production-spec model which ensures its launch in the near future. The SUV-coupe was designed around the XUV500 – the first monocoque vehicle from Mahindra and also shares its styling on the front. The read resembles a Ford Mustang while the suicide styled doors (most likely to be removed in the production model) and swooping roofline gives the Aero a modern look. Where interiors are concerned, the Aero is expected to have a flat-bottomed steering wheel, a large touchscreen infotainment system, and a digital dashboard. The 2.2L mHAWK diesel engine powering the car will be an upgraded version found on the XUV500 and should offer 0-100 Kmph in less than 10 seconds.
|Expected Launch||March 3, 2020|
Mahindra knows a thing or two about off-road vehicles and the 2019 Mahindra Thar should be ample proof of that. Now, the company is ready to unveil the Thar 2020 which will offer some interesting upgrades from the previous model and could tempt you into finding a used car evaluation tool for your existing car. The majority of upgrades can be found on the inside with comfortable seats, multifunctional steering options, a bigger driver information display, and an overall modern finish to it than before. Powering the new vehicle is a 2.0L diesel BS6 compliant engine that is accompanied by a 6-speed manual transmission. The exteriors of the Thar are also said to feature some upgrades such as plastic bumpers on the front and rear, plastic hooks on the bonnet instead of metal ones, and newly designed doors and handles.
|Expected Launch||August 10, 2020|
|Engine||2.0L Petrol, 2.0L Diesel|
The 2nd generation XUV500 from Mahindra is expected to be launched some time in 2020 and is said to be based on the SsangYong Korando 2020 – the latest vehicle from Mahindra’s Korean subsidiary. The new XUV500 should house a 2.0L petrol or diesel engine and a plethora of features that give the upcoming SUV an edge over its closest competitors like the Tata Harrier, Jeep Compass, and MG Hector. The exterior design of the car is rumoured to resemble the Korando 2020 as well with sharp features and sturdy looks. On the front, the XUV500 will feature LED headlamps and fog lights while the rear will also come with LED taillights. Interiors of the XUV500 are yet to be detailed, but given the fact that the car is based on the Korando, it should have modern technology and sleek designs incorporated as well.
If any of the cars mentioned here intrigue you, you might want to head down to the nearest dealership that sell cars and learn a little bit more about them before investing. These upcoming Mahindra models combine performance and reliability in equal proportions to give interested buyers more than what they would expect. With Mahindra’s vast experience and recognition in the industry, it shouldn’t be too long before we see a number of newer models take to the roads of India.
