Honda
City
Summary
The Honda City is highly regarded for its spacious and comfortable interior, smooth driving experience, and fuel efficiency. Users appreciate its elegant design and advanced features, making it a favored choice for families and commuters. However, some concerns include low ground clearance, which can cause scraping on speed bumps, and a dated interior design with limited under-thigh support in the rear seats. Overall, it remains a strong contender in the sedan segment, balancing practicality with a touch of luxury.

Honda City. It is a no nonsense car, practical and low maintenance. Built to last, has been on sale in various iterations since 1990's. Can be serviced anywhere, even in back of beyond places. Cost of ownership is low. Running costs are minimal. Good Sedan.

the most VFM car tbh, especially the V MT variant.. every basic thing is factory fitted. Pros: 1. Good dynamics, 2. good steering. 3. awesome space, 4. good comfort, 5. good stability, 6. ivtec is still the best NA. 7. revving up to 7.2k RPM! the only downsides are tyre size, NVH, ground clearance and the paint quality (even a minor touch of the plants can make a small hairline scratch in my blue baby.)

I absolutely loved my Honda City GM6—driving it has been a joy from start to finish. As an enthusiast, I’ve always been in love with the VTEC kick and the smooth, rewarding feel of the 5-speed manual gearbox. It’s got a power delivery that just makes you want to keep pushing, and the car responds with such character. Truth be told, the mileage isn’t the best—city fuel efficiency can be frustratingly low—but honestly, can you really complain? It’s a Honda, and the smiles it gives me behind the wheel make that little compromise totally worth it.

We have buyed a honda city in 2021 vx cvt, and it's been 4 years since it's with with and it's an all-rounder becuz it has space, comfort, no gimmicky features, good power but a bit low mileage and a bit bumpy. Before even considering it we were going to buy the Hyundai venue or Kia sonet but my mom always wanted a sedan and I didn't like those namesake suvs, so i recommended my dad this city and trust me I never regretted my descison, it performed it's best on hills, ghats section, highways, city traffic and many more places

We got our first car from cars24 and on top of that it was a Honda City V 2022, in immaculate condition. Drives like a dream and so comfortable that I always stay on cloud nine while driving. Thank you Cars24 for connecting me with my dream.

I bought a facelift 2023 citv v cvt in april 2023. Pros : Love the steering feedback . I think its steering is more precise than skoda and vw. The pickup is good in fact best in segment ( NA + cvt) . Adas works precise . Fuel efficiency is good city and highway . Breaking is good despite small tyres. Ac controls are great . Cons: high speeds beyond 100 dont feel that stable despite being a sedan due to soft suspension and there is nose dive on breaking and hinders the cornering . Tyre size is not okay as per segment but it helps efficiency . Despite a great steering the overall dynamics not same as slavia and virtus . Still a no nonsense car for 15 years . Wish people buy it more to keep it relevant . Now give me my amazon voucher 😜

Based on my journey with my lovely 2019 Honda City ZX , here's my take. The car's best feature is its incredibly smooth and quiet engine, which makes driving it a real pleasure. The interior space is also a huge plus, with plenty of room in the back seat and a generous boot, making it great for families. On top of that, its reliability is a well-known fact; it's a dependable and low-maintenance vehicle. However, it's not without its drawbacks. The fuel efficiency can be a bit disappointing in heavy city traffic, and you have to be careful with its low ground clearance on rough roads. All in all, it's a very comfortable, reliable, and practical sedan. If you prioritize space and a no-fuss ownership experience, it's an excellent choice.

I’ve been driving my 2015 Honda City for a couple of years now, and honestly, it’s been a great car. The engine always feels smooth and zippy, especially in city traffic. I love how spacious it is inside—plenty of room for my family and groceries. It’s also pretty easy on the wallet when it comes to fuel. The interior actually feels way better than what you’d expect from a car this old. The only thing I wish was better is the suspension, especially on bumpy roads, and you do have to be a bit careful with those big speed breakers. Other than that, it’s been super reliable and I’ve had very few issues. Would definitely recommend it if you’re looking at used sedans.

I recently drove my 2023 Honda City ZX from Hyderabad to Mumbai via the Samruddhi Mahamarg, maintaining speeds between 90–110 kmph with 4 passengers and luggage. The car returned an impressive 20.5 kmpl on regular petrol (likely not E20, since this was a couple of months ago). On another run, with just me in the car over a 110 km stretch, I managed to achieve 23.2 kmpl. These numbers are now my benchmarks for future drives on this route. In terms of driving feel, the City runs smooth as butter. It may not feel as spirited as the Verna or Slavia, but I’m not complaining—it ticks almost all the boxes that matter more to me. The engine itself is a gem: it’s free-revving, climbs easily to 6,000 rpm, and delivers a very linear pull. And if you enjoy engine sound, you’ll find it to be music. I loved: Excellent fuel efficiency (20+ kmpl achievable with sensible driving) Smooth and refined drive quality Free-revving i-VTEC engine with a linear power delivery Comfortable cabin, suitable for long highway drives Engine note is enjoyable for enthusiasts I dislike: Not as sporty or aggressive as Verna/Slavia in outright performance High revs don’t translate into an immediate punch (more linear than explosive) Chances of underbody scratches on bumps.

Honda City 2023 ZX CVT Loving the car so far – super smooth CVT, plenty of space, and really comfortable for daily drives. Interiors feel premium and refined. Only small downsides are the infotainment system (a bit dated) and low ground clearance on big bumps. Other than that, it’s an excellent all-rounder!

We’ve bought a 2011 Honda City in 2025, restored it mechanically (new shock absorbers, added height pads), upgraded its electronics (LED headlamps, smart infotainment system, etc.) and added a CNG kit to supercharge its fuel efficiency. Its a perfect package where you don’t lose too much on performance with the CNG kit, you get the smooth, comfortable and fun to drive experience with running cost as low as 3.5 INR per KM. We use it as our daily driver, also take it occasionally on 2,000 Km long rides with an infant onboard.

I own a 2021 Honda City Gen 4 Facelift Manual. It is a great overall car. The petrol variant i-VTEC has a gem of an engine. It is a SOHC unit but oh boy. Does 0-100 in around 10 seconds and reaches 100kmph in the 2nd gear itself. I'm getting an average fuel efficiency of around 9-12kmpl in the city and goes upto 17kmpl on the highway. The rear seats in this car is the next place to be in this car after the driving seat. It has great comfort and ample amount of leg room. The boot space is also great and can fit an entire house in it. It looks phenomenon and does not include any gimmicky features as we get to see in today's cars. It has all the needed features. It is the V variant as I got it when the 5th gen was already on sale but gets almost every feature that is a must have. It does not even have traction control and wheelspins like crazy. I've upgraded my tyres to Yokohama Earth 1s 185/65/R15 and I'm super happy with them too. Also for those who doesn't know, it comes with stock iridium tip spark plugs from the factory. Honda makes the best petrol engines. Period.

I have a Honda city from the past 8 years. The 2017 Honda City is known for its comfortable ride, spacious cabin, and good fuel efficiency. It’s a practical sedan with a smooth driving experience, reliable for city and highway use. The engine performance is smooth, and the cabin is well-insulated from road noise. Overall, it’s a great balance of comfort, reliability, and affordability. So in short I really love it ♥️

I picked up a 5-year-old used Honda City VX manual (petrol) back in February 2021, and since then I’ve clocked around 38,000 km on it. Honestly, the experience has been great so far. The car is super smooth to drive, really comfortable, and even on long trips I don’t feel tired behind the wheel. The mileage on petrol could’ve been better, but once I switched to CNG, it started making a lot more sense. For a car with a 1.5L engine, the efficiency is actually pretty solid, and on highways it only gets better — without losing too much power. In fact, just a month after buying it, I did a round trip from Noida to Goa, and even today, that’s still the most memorable drive I’ve had with this car. Overall, the Honda City has been a solid companion — smooth to drive, super comfy, and reliable even after all these years. The petrol mileage isn’t its best quality, but on CNG it really shines, especially for long drives. If you’re considering a used sedan that feels premium without being a headache to maintain, I’d definitely say the City is worth it.

I use my Honda City in Bangalore for daily office commute in moderate-high traffic. Getting milage 10kmpl. When I go outside trip i get 16.5 kmpl. On Mysore Highway using ADAS (90kmph) I get 19-20kmpl. I love it for its comfort and effortless highway drive.

HI I own a 4 th generation honda city manual i have tested all the cars in this segment which are naturally aspirated petrol 1.5 i can say without a doubt this engine is the smoothest of all way better than 1 l three cylinder turbo charged engines . overall drive drive is also very comfortable u dont feel exhausted specially on the long drives. Engine does not feel sluggish at all even in the highest gears i would definitely recommend these cars above any other in this segment specially when it comes to petrol engines.
