Mahindra
Thar 2020-2024
Summary
The Mahindra Thar is highly regarded for its rugged design and exceptional off-road capabilities, appealing to adventure enthusiasts. Users commend its powerful engine options and commanding road presence, blending classic charm with modern features. However, it faces criticism for limited rear seat space, minimal boot capacity, and less practicality for daily family use. While it excels in off-road scenarios, it may not be the best fit for urban driving due to its cramped interior.

The new Mahindra Thar feels very planted. The ride quality is also pretty good - almost plush. So the car has a very comfortable fee, and there are no vibrations anywhere. Ride quality is just a million times better than before

I have been driving the new Mahindra Thar since 1.5 years and I had a great experience with this car. It is a perfect off roading companion with a powerful engine and durable build quality. The mileage is around 12 kmpl. The interior looks good but not premium due to the low quality panels and material

see as an middle class indian buyer my one of favourite is thar roxx as of now as it solves all of problems. like it can be your daily driver, you can travel in any part of india without worrying about anything as its Mahindra you wont get any issues of maintanance as such. Its so massy youi get that feel of owing an premium SUV after spending little money. The only flaw i feel as driver is the driving dynamics of car. ANd if i think abount financial aspect the mileage.

I really like its bold look and how it can handle rough roads easily. It's fun to drive and feels different from regular cars. I've taken it on a few trips, and every time it gave a great experience. It's not about fancy features, but the Thar has a strong and adventurous feel that's why I like it so much.

Mahindra Thar (2nd Gen, Diesel MT 4x4) represents much more than just a vehicle…it's an icon that has evolved. While the earlier generation catered to off-road purists, the current model strikes a rare balance between rugged capability and daily usability, making it a uniquely desirable package in our market. Sure, it has its compromises….like limited boot space or bumpy ride quality….but that's part of its honest charm. In a world of overly digitized, over-assisted driving experiences, the Thar still makes the driver feel like a driver.

The Mahindra Thar This is something that fascinates me. This one’s a real stress buster especially when driven off roads and over tough terrain. Being a technician myself I was always under the impression that Mahindras were lacking the refinement and reliability when it comes to Auto-transmission. This is far more superior than I assumed it to be Loved driving this.

My favourite car is Thar. The 4 cylinder and 2 litre engine has enough power to deliver throughout every long distance travel. Based on my experience, I like it because of the ride quality. It's a perfect vehicle for off-road and on-road.

I find it to be one of the most character-rich vehicles on sale in India right Now. Its rugged, unapologetically bold, and built for adventurewhich really resonates with me as someone who enjoys camping, exploring trails, and taking the road less travelled. The fact that it's a homegrown product, yet manages to capture the spirit of global off-road icons like the Wrangler, makes it even more impressive. What really stands out to me is how Mahindra has balanced practicality and passion.

Thar is more than just a car for me. Build quality is very strong, and safety features like ABS and airbags make me feel secure. The engine start stop button and good ground clearance are very useful.

My favourite car currently on sale in India is the Mahindra Thar (2nd generation). It strikes a perfect balance between rugged off-road capability and modern-day practicality, which makes it an icon reborn. I admire how Mahindra has evolved the Thar from a bare-bones off-roader to a well-rounded lifestyle SUV while still preserving its core identity.

The new generation Thar offers a powerful engine lineup, improved ride quality, and essential creature comforts while maintaining its legendary go-anywhere capability. As a user, my Thar is a heart-over-head decision; its rugged looks and unmatched road presence make me smile every time I drive. While its off-road capability is fantastic, it's not a practical family car due to the cramped rear seats, minimal boot space, and bouncy on-road ride. There are also minor quality niggles and inefficient fuel economy, but its raw charm and adventurous appeal outweigh those daily compromises for me. It's a second car for an enthusiast's garage, not a one-car solution. I'm happy to put up with the drawbacks for the sheer joy and freedom it provides.

Thar is a true adventurer's tool rather than just a city cruiser. On paper and...more importantly....in real life it's designed to go where most cars won't: high ground clearance, short overhangs and a proven 4_4 layout make it excellent on bad roads, forest tracks and rocky trails. That capability gives you the confidence to choose routes that are less travelled and to push into genuinely unexplored places. Thar is THAR!!

The Mahindra Thar is my favorite Indian car simply because it has a soul. It is not the most comfortable or the smoothest but every time I see one, it makes me want to grab the keys and just drive off somewhere. It is rugged, boxy and has that old school charm that most modern SUVs have lost. Driving it feels special you sit high, the steering feels solid and the moment you leave city limits, Thar starts showing its true colors. It eats up bad roads, slush and broken trails like they don't even exist. On the highway, it is decent enough but off the road is where it truly feels alive. (Not a fan of ROXX..LOL)
