Mahindra XUV700 Diesel Automatic, which I proudly own. This vehicle has not only met but exceeded my expectations in terms of performance, comfort, and technology. What truly sets the diesel automatic variant apart is its refined power delivery and effortless drivability. The 2.2L mHawk diesel engine offers a perfect balance of torque and efficiency, making both city commutes and highway cruising a pleasure. The automatic transmission is smooth and responsive, allowing for a relaxed driving experience, especially in Bangalore traffic.

My favorite Indian car is the Mahindra XUV700. It has redefined what an Indian SUV can offer in terms of performance, features, safety, and road presence. The mHawk diesel engine, especially in the AWD variant, delivers a thrilling driving experience while still being practical for long-distance travel. What really impresses me is how Mahindra has packed it with advanced tech like ADAS, a premium Sony sound system, dual HD displays, and connected features—all at a very competitive price. The XUV700 proves that Indian manufacturers can take on global players with confidence and win.

Whether it’s overtaking with ease or maintaining triple-digit speeds effortlessly, the XUV700 delivers a planted and premium ride— comparable to sedans, yet with the space and practicality of an SUV. As someone working in embedded automotive systems, I have a deep appreciation for the technology it brings—ADAS Level 2, connected features, and drive modes. What stands out most is how well ADAS is calibrated for Indian road conditions. Lane keep assist, adaptive cruise control, and forward collision warning feel purposeful, not intrusive— something that’s rare in this segment. I also admire Mr. Velusamy’s vision of creating an “affordable BMW” for Indian consumers. The XUV700 lives up to that promise by offering a premium driving experience, mature dynamics, and a
