Driving Skoda Kushaq feels like it is engineered for people who enjoy driving rather than just commuting. The 1.5 turbo-petrol engine delivers clean, linear power and holds its performance even on long highway climbs. The steering has weight and accuracy that many cars in this segment lack. On uneven state highways, the suspension tuning is spot on, firm enough to stay stable at speed, yet absorbent enough to avoid the typical thuds that smaller SUVs often produce. What impresses me most is the balance, it is compact enough for the city, planted enough for fast touring, and efficient when driven calmly thanks to cylinder deactivation. The cabin layout is straightforward, visibility is good, and even after hours behind the wheel, fatigue is low. For someone who values mechanical feel over gimmicks, the Kushaq 1.5 TSI hits the right notes.

The Kushaq is my pick for its compact turbocharged EA211 engine with direct injection, producing 178 Nm from just 1,750 rpm, ideal for city and highway torque demands. It pairs with the reliable Aisin 6-speed torque converter, offering smooth shifts and minimal turbo lag. Built on the MQB-A0-IN platform, it ensures structural rigidity, crash safety (5-star GNCAP), and tight handling. Features like ESC, EBD, hill-hold, and brake disc wiping are standard. The CAN-based ECU network allows precise diagnostics and firmware-level control. It’s a car where German engineering meets Indian adaptability, efficient, safe, and mechanically sound.

My Skoda Kushaq is refined and eager and I average 13–15 kmpl. Engine is smooth, cabin feels solid. Service bills are higher than hatchbacks. The roof and visibility are fine; overall a grown-up compact SUV.

I own the Skoda Kushaq October 2023 model and use it daily. The engine and gearbox combination feels smooth, quick, and refined. Active Cylinder Technology, it shuts two cylinders under light load to save fuel, so it improves efficiency. The steering is direct, the suspension is balanced, and the car feels solid at highway speeds. The cabin is practical, and the driving position works well for long trips. The Monte Carlo version adds sporty touches like the black pack and chrome delete that make it look sharper. Before finalizing the Kushaq, I test drove the Creta, Seltos, XUV700, Virtus, Slavia, and Taigun. The VAG group cars stood out for their safety, stability, and driving feel. I was leaning towards the Virtus, but my wife preferred an SUV body style. Since I had been driving a 2006 Baleno VXi, she wasn't comfortable switching to a sedan again. The XUV700 was tempting because of its space and features, but we dropped it due to its size for city use. The Kushaq offered the right balance between handling, comfort, and practicality. In daily use, the car returns around 10-12 km/l in the city and 16.

Within 15 lakh budget, my favorite car is skoda kushaq 1.0 : Why this car is my favourite and also I own this one: 1. Drivability + Steering Feedback: In curve areas like western ghats, you must drive this car to feel the thrill it gives, the handling and pickup in lower gears is simply other brands within this budget can't provide. 2. Build Quality: The strength in the door, the assuring sound when you close the door, gives confidence to passengers. 3. The pickup in this car even though it is 999 cc engine is good eNough, thanks to its over engineered engine. After all every road is filled with vehicles Now days, you need to drive within 100 days even in highways 4. Coming to the mileage, I have achieved 20 km per litre when I drive for mileage in high gears mostly in highways, being said that, I have also seen mileage 10 or 12 km/l when I drive for fun in same highway, so mileage depends on driving. 5. It has good seating comfort, very good space for passengers, my mother likes the passengers seat.

Kushaq is fun to drive, especially the 1.5 TSI engine. The cabin is spacious, and the touchscreen and ventilated seats are useful features. Ride quality is decent, but the suspension can feel stiff on rough roads. Overall, a great choice for those who want a premium compact SUV.

Skoda Kushaq stands out as my personal favorite for several compelling reasons. What immediately impresses me about the Kushaq is how it marries European styling and robust engineering with features tailored specifically for Indian driving conditions. The design is bold yet understated, capturing attention without being overly flashy a balance that appeals to those who appreciate subtle sophistication. Performance-wise, the Kushaq excels with its refined engine options, especially the 1.0-litre and 1.5-litre TSI petrol motors, both of which deliver peppy acceleration and strong mid-range torque.

Well I like my car, the Skoda Kushaq 1.5l Monte Carlo edition. For the price, it's a great engine and drives very well. It has its little niggles and misses out on a few features but I think it's a great value for money car. I think that the value for money proposition keeps going down as one goes higher in the price bracket for cars so for what it's worth it's a great car.
