My pick would definitely be a diesel car since we own the India's favourite 1.3 MultiJet on our Linea in home, but the lack of small and efficient diesel engines makes me fall towards a petrol-hybrid. I'm not a person who prefer performance over reliability and efficiency, I always try to reach my destinations 5 mins prior so going to a place with peddle stick all the way down would be only 5% if my overall rides. I own a Hyryder-strong hybrid which makes sense on my Bangalore traffic commute and ride back home once every 2 months(Bangalore - Kochi). Highway rides I have achieved till 30kmpl from Bangalore to Mysuru and in city traffic I have never seen my average mileage drop below 20kmpl. Highway acceleration is adequate and overtaking never felt underpowered like I read in most forums. It might be because I'm gentle with the throttle. Considering all this I'm completely satisfied with my Hyryders overall performance. So my pick as of now would be the Toyota Hyryder Strong Hybrid which I own and I would like to see Toyota bring their RAV4 line up mostly Hybrids to India much sooner.

My Toyota Urban Cruiser gives reliable commuting about 16–17 kmpl. Feels light and easy, with good ground clearance. Interiors are basic compared to rivals, but Toyota service is comforting. A simple and sensible daily car.

Better than a pure petrol ICE for efficiency and some comfort, but not as “efficient / refined / peppy” as a strong-hybrid.It Lacks in Power but has a great performance in City Don't expect a great mileage in City (13-16)
